Default 5.4 rebuild

Since im not a high poster here i will give a little back ground of my self. Been a tech at a dealerships for around 8 yrs and now im driving a semitruck last 5 yrs. I have decent experence working and painting my stangs. Touch 5.0 quite a bit along with 4.6s . Im no guru by far but my f150 is in time for a rebuild. Nothing to support gobs of power but to drove like it has. Anyone done a rebuild like this , where i would use stock or slightly better that stock parts. In particular:

Pistons?
Rods?
Entire rebuild kits?

From who and where is there afordable parts?

I think you are better off buying a short block from these guys: http://www.modularmustangracing.com/

they have a MMR 900 5.4L block that can handle some serious power
I have learned that rebuilding engines actually costs just as much as buying a short block, and machining and everything else.
