Default 5.4 jasper?

I have a 2000 F150 5.4 4x4... Getting ready to buy either a Jasper engine with 3 yr 100k warranty or a reman engine from local parts house that carries a 3 yr unlimited mileage warranty. Anyone have any ideas or experience on these engines and if so what kind of performance mods are worth doing before the install. The truck has 260k on it and has been kept up very well. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I have heard nothing but good things about Jasper engines. But I also heard you have to have an authorized mechanic install the motor or the warranty is voided. Might want to look into that aspect, might include performance mods also.

Looking to do the same thing on a 99 f150 4x4 would also like to hear what others have done. I know I would like a bigger cam and power than I have now. I am currently running 35's and will be running 42's in a couple months. Would like to replace engine before putting on more lift on so it will be a little easier to do.

Well not an F150 but I did purchase a Jasper V-10 for my 05 Excursion. They didnt have any in stock so the mechanic shipped my engine to them, they rebuilt it, tested it, and shipped it back. I think Washington State if i'm not mistaken. Great engine and got to keep the same engine with the truck. Sadly the Ex totaled it with brand new Nitto's on there. Cost was around 7,000.00 total to include install.

I will let you know about Jasper motors here in about a month. I am putting a Jasper in my 02 Screw right now. I should have it back in a week or so.

Jasper makes good reman engines. Sometimes you get a problem one. Do you really plan to drive more than 100k in 3 years that you would wear out the Jasper warranty? I would go Jasper if it was my truck. I've seen first hand how the warranty process works and they take care of their engines. It's been a few years since having to work on a warranty issue with them, but that's where I'd spend my money. Not sure I'd really worry about performance mods. For the money and the vehicle I don't think it's worth it. Besides, that also might void your engine warranty.
