Default 5.4 gas millege has fallen on its face

Over passed 2 years I've thought I've noticed a decrease in mph but wasn't sure because I only drove my truck on weekends.. well I have been driving it to work for a month now and my mph went from 13 to 8 I've never had a drop that on anything any ideas ?
Truck is 97 4x4 at extend cab

If I had to guess I'd say it's probably the ethanol in the gas. Everybody keeps upping it and it burns so quick. I've tried everything to make my mpg's a little better and nothing works. When I got my truck I was getting 16 out of it and now 4 1/2 yrs later I'm getting 10 to 11 depending on how much I put my foot in it.

I thought about that but my friend has a 03 with the 4.6 and gets gas at the same station like i do and his mpg has never changed...Got another friend with same year 5.4 hes going to fill up there and see if he looses anything
Also ive noticed slight power loss, a hill on the highway in this area my truck now has to down shift to maintain 75, it never used too.
Going to do engine flush this weekend, dont think it'll do ***** but we'll see.

I have a cold air intake, have done the plugs, and just changed all my lower fluids ( tranny pan and filter, front and rear diff and transfer case). I haven't don't the fuel filer or the coil packs. Do you think that one of those things could be why I don't get very good mileage ?

Plugs that Are .10 gap smaller and a heat range colder will help with ethanol
