Who's tuning it?
Some guys at finish line automotive and performance here in Arvada / denver CO. They have done some tuning on another members truck with a 4.2l v6 with good results. They have done some l-swaps onto other vehicles too.

While were on the tuning subject. Will I need to buy a chip or tuner? Or do they just flash over the stock ECU?

I'm just wondering if i need any additional equipment for tuning.

Yep. Thats all im trying to accomplish. I'll try to wedge it off. I think that would free up that trim hopefully.

Yes you'll need and SCT handheld tuner.

Alright, I was under the impression that they can use their handheld tuner to flash and do everything and i just drive off with a re-flashed ECU.

But it sounds like i buy a tuner and they use my tuner to dyno tune? I'm new to the whole tuning deal. So realistically i should expect to buy a tuning device and dyno time?

The SCT is what's used to flash your computer, so yes. Start looking for a used UNlocked X2 or X3.

4x4dave whats your plans after getting blower on truck? you going to trailer the truck to dyno? The truck wont run until the tune is loaded. I did the swap on my 01 Screw 4x4. I was running 12psi and it was fun to drive. If you have any ?'s let me know

Exactly. The tuning aspect of it all can get a bit pricey but it's what make the biggest difference in the end.

Agreed. I'll just have to cough up the cash for the tune and the tuner!
