hey everybody I'm a new member but i have had my truck for 5 years i love it and love to go wheeling. however, i went up to Green mountain on mud road and just cruising through it in 2WD and then i got stuck so i reversed out and threw it in neutral held the brake down and put it into 4 Low and the transfer case went into gear and made a thump but my front tires werent locking up. so i had to leave her at the botttom of the mountain and ride with my buddy what could be wrong? please help.

 

What year truck is it?

I moved this to the 1997-2003 section since if I were a betting man, it sounds like a faulty vacuum solenoid or busted line in that generation truck. I had the same problem with mine.
