Default 4x4 low

Can anyone answer a question for me ?
I accidentally put my truck in 4-low at 50 mph. i did not notice right away until i heard a noise that sounded in the right front that sounded like i ran something over.
Is there some type of cut off that prevents it from going in gear. there was no change in how the truck was driving before or after i put in back in tweo WD

What kind of truck do you have? Is it the floor lever or the **** on the dash?

It definitely did not go into 4 low at 50 mph. You would be eating windshield. I'm assuming you have **** on the dash. It won't go in at those speeds. The gears are spinning to fast to synchronize. If you felt like you hit something it tried. Hopefully you didn't knock any teeth off.

if you have the ****, the clunk was it going into 4wd high even if you switched it to 4x4 low. to switch to 4x4low, it needs to be in neutral.

I agree with everyone else here, it won't engage into 4x4 low unless its in neutral. Most likely it just went into 4x4 high, although engaging 4x4 high at those speeds isn't very good for it either.

yeah it wont go into low unless its in neutral. even though its the shift on the fly 4wd, its probably still not good for it. did you try out the 4wd to see if it works okay?
