I honestly have no idea..he said that it would make the 4wd work and would shut the light off...it looks like a fuse box to me..I can post a pic of it in a bit ..he said u just unplug old one and plug new one in..was hoping I could do myself instead of paying someone but idk if anything is that simple lol

Those are what he gave me with the truck....my main reason for wanting a truck is to know that I can get to store in middle of blizzard and not worry bout it..so hoping this problem is easy fix

That is the GEM module.
I actually changed this on my truck and have a spare good GEM module within 3 feet of my computer desk. I was also trying to figure out an issue with my 4x4. In my case this didn't fix the issue however that doesn't mean it won't fix yours. The swap is fairly straight forward however it's akward as hell. The GEM module is located just outboard of the driver's feet. You'll have to fight it a bit, budget a half day to do this job.
Be sure to inspect for water damage, what can cause failure of the GEM module is a leaking front window. If you spy any sign at all of water in this area (corrosion/drip marks... etc) go have your window removed and resealed.
Here's a guide i used which is really well written: http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2009/...le-window.html
and in case you weren't sure why you have two boxes here's a picture of my GEM module (which is both of your two boxes screwed together):
