Default 4x4 launch anyone?

Anyone revved up in neutral and dropped into 4x4 for a quick launch?

Just curious if it was quick and worked alright, or if you left planetary gears and tranny fluid on the street. Obviously i have a 4x4, and I'm thinking of doing something like this. But I'm wanting to hear everyone's experiences before i try to walk over some high HP trucks.

Got to take advantage of what i got!

It will launch quicker, for sure.

Can't tell you how long it'll be until something gives though. I wouldn't hesitate to do it a few times should I not be able to keep from spinning in 2wd.

WTF................. AHAHAHAHA... Hope this is a gag.

Aren't you the member doing the blower swap or something? If you plan on nutreal dropping anything, Your first plan of attack is to get the camera out. Nutreal drops will break something almost every time. If you get passed 2 or 3... Buy a lottery ticket.

I wouldn't do that man!!!!!

You could powerbrake in 4x4 to get your RPM's up then drop the brake.... But I don't know that you would even have any benefit there unless you are running forced Induction... Even then...

When I had my 07 4x4 Tacoma a guy over there had a supercharged 4x4, and he would do that pulling some amazing 0-60's. The only thing is I think he would drop out of 4x4 before he went over like 80mph. As far as I know he never blew anything up.... I'll see if I can find a link.

I wouldn't do it but you could boost up in drive an 4hi and try it that's how diesels do a boosted launch.

This is the guy with the 4x4 Taco. He launches in 4x4 on a lot of his videos then drops out of 4x4 around 3rd gear if I'm not mistaken.

***He does NOT drop into drive from neutral. That sounds like transmission suicide.

Neutral drops in 4WD are awesome. I do them every day on my way to and from work.
