on my 2006 i had the problem where you turn the switch and nothing at all would happen there is an IWE motor under there that gets moisture in it and fails to spool out kinda of like a started to engage your 4wd. i tapped on it with a hammer lightly while my friend went back and for with the knob and there it was. that is often the case on these damn electronic things

I would say just replace the acuator. That what it wounds like it could be to me. I have had the little rubber boot around the solenoid piston come loose and it gets full of mud. If thats the case its probly shot.

But the IWE's are only on 04+ trucks and stands for "integrated wheel ends" they are mounted right behind your wheel bearing on the front wheels but 97-03 trucks do not have IWE's they have a vaccum solenoid on the front diff. |
x3 V lines are horrible for doing that
|
How do you check the vacuum lines?

It was the acuator. My mechanic tapped on it while his brother flipped the switch and it came on! Thank God for honest mechanics! Thanks for the help everyone!
