01 f150 4.6 v8 4x4. 4x4 not working indicator not illuminating, at first I checked the shift motor on the transfer case it was in bad shape so I replaced it still not working checked the f15 5 amp fuse it's good with correct voltage checked voltage at the solenoids power is good at the 2wd and the 4wd checked vaccum at the solenoids and I have vaccum on both Never had a problem with this before. Anybody got some info. I need some help

 

Relay?

 

You have electrical tested several items. Have you considered testing for power at the shift motor?

 

I will double check when I replaced it last week I had power. No relays in the dash are clicking when switched from2wd to4wd.

 

4wd actuator on the front not engaging perhaps? That diaphragm goes after time, that's a potential problem.

 

There is no shift position feedback indicator on the front axle actuator. This problem, as described, of no relay clicking and no 4wd dash lamp will be something else.

To OP, search this section for other “no 4wd” threads. There are quite a few, with good information, with youtube diagnostics links too, which will definitely help you solve it.

 

ok I will look on here for other threads. As soon as I get some time I will do some more checking I do have the 4x4 service manual That has help track down alot of stuff but it keeps wanting to retrieve the 4x4 trouble codes I have a couple different scanners but nothing reads that type of code
