i have a problem with my 4 wheel drive. it is a 2000 f150 with shift on the floor, when i pull the shifter to 4 high nothing happens, the light in the dash doesn't come on either, but if i play around with the shifter in and out a while it goes in and then the light comes on in the dash also.. any ideas??? someone told me it was a switch located on the top of the transfer case for the 4 wheel drive??????

 

Are you saying after you play with it a while 4wd works and the light comes on? Or even after playing with the shifter a while the light comes on but 4wd still does not work?

Sometimes I don't get it in 4hi right away, takes a few times to get it in 4hi.
