4x4 direction

Default 4x4 direction

I have as 1998 F-150 4x4 in the floor and the direction the on the handle I think is wrong I can't figure out whether I'm in low or high, there is no light on the dash that says low range can someone tell me what direction it goes, or help me out here thanks

Starting at the top you're in 2wd. Straight back is 4hi. Left and halfway down is nuetral. Down and right is 4lo.

Pull the handle to the left then straight back. The first click will be 4 high. Then pull straight back again until its in. That will be 4 lo, you should be able to feel the gear reduction when you put it in drive and let off the brake, even if your low range light is faulty. Don't engage with out being stopped and in neutral

Yes, I like you're description way better though. My linkage is also messed up so my experience probably isn't the same as yours. Missing the 4x4 shifter handle as well
