Okay guys I need some help my truck gets stuck in 4x4 I can't hear it click into 4h and the thing is the light comes on and everything but when I try to switch back into 2h it won't go off I have to disconnect the battery to get it back to 2h idk what to do ?

 

Does it stay in 4 wheel drive, or does it disengage to 2 wheel drive, but the light stays on. Two different problems there.

Easiest way to test this is go on some grass (preferably uphill) and give it a good amount of gas. 4x4 you will take off, 4x2 you won't really move.

 

You may have a bad connection, bad dash switch, bad motor, broken gear (causing it to go in but not come back with power) or a faulty 4x4 indicator switch. I'd start at the shift motor and work my way back up. Im betting on it being in the gear or the switch on the dash. Good luck.

 

I have to get out and take the ground off of the battery ad leave the switch on 2h to make the light go off

 

I don't think it's going into 4x4 just the light comes on and doesn't go off
