4.2l coolant temp sensor

does anyone know where the coolant temperature sensor is located on a 1999 4wd with a 4.2l. The picture in my maintenance manual doesn't match my engine.

This probably wont help but I replaced a coolant temp sensor on a freestar with a 4.2 recently, and it was on the back of the driverside cylinder head.
