Not sure about the 08's but I have seen 04' blocks swapped in with 97-03 heads and upper intakes and they work fine. If you used the 3v heads you'd have to use the 3v upper intake and drive-by-wire system. Although it *can* be swapped in (there's a 70's Bronco running around with a full 04' 5.4l drivetrain and interior swap) it's probably not worth the trouble

Yea it can be done. How much $$ do you want to spend and how many of the 3 valve engine features do you want to keep? Ford racing has a computer kit with a harness, PCM and drive by wire gas pedal for the 3V 4.6 Mustang. It could be adapted. You could purchase cam phaser lock outs and run the cams in a static position Using your PCM with a tune. You could rewire your truck to run a 2008 PCM as long as you can get the whole PCM and harness and all. You could install your 2V heads on the 3V block.

I didn't know Ford Racing has a kit like that available, thats cool as heck... do they bypass PATS or is it configured into the new PCM?
