Why is that? Once you take it off a enough times you may not have enough wire to resolder. I went and got a two pole trailer plug so it should be weather proof and now I can disconnect it whenever I need. But I'm open to change lol so any specific reason why you'd rather resolder or just personal preference?

I never take mine off. If I do I will just reheat the solder and disconnect then strip the old solder off and re solder. But I have never taken mine off.

Your write up was great, everything went smooth . I've taken off my grill before but it was nice having references. My only hiccup was drilling the holes for the mounts. My drill/bit was a little long so my holes were at a bit of a slant. I went and bought longer bolts so I skipped the trimming part. The entire bar sits back far enough that it doesn't touch the grill at all

Ive been wanting to do this i wonder if the light will shine through okay with my bar grille that is on top of my honeycomb?

awesome! Did you use a 32" bar? The page from amazon only has a 28" and 42" version?!

3 month-ish update - light bar is holding up fine. Still puts out what light it does and surprisingly no paint chips. I thought it might get chopped up being behind the grill. And to anyone wondering it doesn't affect airflow(I knew it wouldn't) temp stays about 204 on my truck
