Default 3" pipe after muffler?

Hey guys I'm currently running a 14 inch magnapack on my stock 2.5 inch pipe. I like the sound but was hoping to maybe deepen it up a little but more. I was considering having 3" pipe put on after the muffler (still keeping the stock pipe before the muffler) and then running a 3.5 or 4 inch tip. I think it would sound better but I worry about losing my low end because of the larger pipe. I see lots of catback kits in 3" but I figured I'd better get some other opinions First. The truck is a 2000 5.4.

After the muffler really doesnt effect torque, as the exhaust has dramatically cooled by then. I have a full 3". Magnaflow makes a replacement tailpipe in 3"
