Default 3 inch single

Anyone out there running a three inch single exhaust from the cats back on their trucks.

Right now I have true duals, but the tail pipes are starting to go. My plan is to go back to a single set up but 3 inch with a chambered muffler instead of the glass packs I usually buy.

thanks for the input

I have a cat back flow master super 40 I believe it is. I had it on my truck since new so 42,000miles sounds great not to loud on the highway. I had lots of compliments about how nice is sounds. And really no much difference in power gains between dual or a nice single exhaust.

And a real muffler will sound so much better than two glass packs which sound like ol john boy in his 73 Chevy pick em up!

I've got 3" and I'm very happy with it. Powerband is where it needs to be. A real muffler would be a staight through one.

I recently installed a 3" on my truck. I cut the stock system at the Y so I could open it up to a larger opening than the stock 2.5" pipe and then welded the 3" section onto the cut Y section. This increase the exhaust flow tremendously. I have a 3" in/out Magnaflow (4x18" I believe) with a turndown. I could tell that there was an increase in power, throttle response and fuel mileage.
