is it possible to convert a 2002 f150 2wd to a 4wd?

Anything is possible, it just costs more. Seriously though, it's money ahead to trade trucks to get 4x4. If you want to keep the same truck, look into a locker for the rear to make the most of the 2wd.

Yea, either a locker, or if its your DD, swap out the rear axle with one in a 4X4 so you have limited slip or whatever its called, so if one tire spins, the other will engage automatically. Plus you'll most likely be upgrading the gears from 3:55 to 3:75's so you can run bigger tires. Thats what i'm gonna do to mine eventually

if you really wanna know:

new tranny, transfer case, front and rear driveshafts, front suspension assembly, front axle members, CV axles, and computers. not to mention the welding experience as well as a firm grasp on geometry that you will need
