Default 2003 F-150 Cruise Control inop

I cannot get my cruise control to activate. I have the 2003 F-150 Supercab with the 5.4 EFI V8 ENGINE.I do get the green light on when I go through the code test but that is all I get no other flashes are indicated. I changed the control module in the steering wheel and took it out on the highway above 50 MPH and turned on the Cruise control.. I got the green light but no speed control. Any help would be appreciated,

Thank You
RV

I don't mean to be rude but you do know you need to press the on button on the left side and then press the set button on the right side?

I never knew I'd have to go into so much detail on how to use cruise when teaching my younger sister in laws but I soon learned sometimes you can't assume someone knows anything about the subject at hand.

Anyway I'm not too familiar with the test you ran but did you make sure your fuses were good?

Yes I did pt the cruise control on and I did hit the set button at the speed I wanted to control.

Yes I checked all the fuses related to the cruise control and all were OK!

The test I did on the cruise control is a no engine run test that shows the green on light and then as you go through the various buttons you should get light flashes.

Hmmm I'm wondering if maybe the set button contacts are not making a good connection

Edit* well maybe not. Iirc the light only illuminates once you press "set" .... hmmm

The cable end which is plastic has been know to pop off the throttle plate. Check that before you over think anything. If the light comes on but the cruise doesn't work...
