Default 2003 brake question

Put new brake pads and rotors on the front and back of my truck recently. The truck jus feels like it's stopping on the front more than the back. Any recommendations of things to check? I have heard of proportioning valves In the brake system but have never dealt first hand with them....
TIA

They are suppose by design.

The rears are just suppose to assist.

When you did the front brakes did you open the bleed valve to compress the caliper? If you did, you should bleed both the front and rear brakes to get all the air out.

Didn't touch the bleed valves.....
Just aggravating the front pads were shot and the rear had plenty left.
Not to mention the amount of brake dust the front are putting out. Having to wash my wheels frequently.

That's usually how they go. The front pads take more than double of the braking power of the rears. I replaced my front pads 33k miles ago and am still using the same rear pads. I'm actually going to swap the rears out later this month lol.

As for the brake dust, what grade pads did you buy? The cheap pads will produce more dust than the expensive ones. With my driving habits, the difference between cheap and expensive pads is the need to clean wheels once weekly or once every other month.

Did you have the ceramic pads on when you were getting brake dust? I've never had an issue with my ceramics.

As far as the back brakes wearing out slower... well, my Escape has had 4 sets of front pads, and the rears are still the originals.

I haven't really heard of complaints about the dust coming from the OE pads. As for the way they are wearing, that is completely normal like everyone else said. If you're interested in OEM pads next time you may want to take a look at part number F85Z2001AA (http://parts.lakelandford.com/p/Ford...85Z2001AA.html) because I believe those are correct for the 03 F-150, send me the VIN if you decide to go this way next time and I will double check.
