Default 2003 Brake Issue

I have a 2003 F150 5.4L 4x4 with 115K miles. Been used to haul TT and farm equipment.

Had Ford dealer replace front /rear pads, replace front rotors, and rear rotors resurfaced yesterday due to age and wear. Driving truck out of dealership and noticed it was stopping when I let off the gas. Turned around and went back (about 2 miles). Another tech and I went for a test drive and same problem. He put it up and found that the rear calipers stuck and over heated the rear rotors. Plan is to replace rear rotors, calipers, and pads along with a fluid flush.

Can anyone suggest anything else that should be done at this time? Appears the dealer will take care of all the work.

Are both rear calipers sticking? Either way when it comes to brakes I do maintenence in pairs to keep even performance.

I'm not sure I would change the rotors. You didn't drive on them long enough to kill them. Unless you really want new ones, I would just run new calipers and call it a day.

Thanks for the recommendation. Found out they had done a 10 mile test drive with my 2 mile return. Ford put on new rotors due to the old ones being burned. Replaced left & right rotors, pads, and calibers and they covered the labor. All I had to pay for was a brake fluid flush and refill. Makes a difference when you work with the service manager and the technician lead.

I read up a lot on issues from this forum and appreciate all the other posts. Helps to learn about these things when dealing with folks. Kudos to this forum.

Glad they covered everything. That was pretty nice of them.

If you have any other issues don't hesitate to ask.
