Hi all, I'm a new member, so this may have been already addressed but...
Does the 2003 5.4l have the notorious plug breakage problem? I am looking at buying a 2003 f150 xlt crewcab truck with the 5.4 v8 motor and 57, 400 miles on it. However, I have been reading about the plug issues and the potential costs that can add up in the thousands. Question, should I have the dealership change these at their cost before I buy? They already have had it for a week due to a small vibration that I thought was a u-joint during a test drive. The sales rep said they had to remove a shaft and have it repaired and machined. hmmm Will be talking to service dept. tomorrow.

Pretty sure spark plug problem is with the 2004- 2008

 

yeah kinda sounds that way based on some of the threads I've read here. Guess after I find out what is wrong from the dealer on the vibration issue I'll decide weather to buy. I really like the truck, Seems to be pretty tight.
