When cold she will bump ahead when started. Cant be good. 600 mile ferry ride to dealer. One shop in town , $95 an hour, 86000miles, 5.7 HO, any remedies? no slip under power , thanks.
Could you elaborate more on this? Have you ever changed fluid and filter? Is the fluid level right when hot? You have either a 4R70 or a 4R100 trans. Does your truck have any mods? $95/hr is about what they get. Labor on my rear end was more than the parts.

just bought the truck in late fall, no manual, is the trans. # listed some place? wasnt able to ask last owner anything, what should a oil/filter change cost? how about oil treatments? shifts firm, my brother inlaw deliverd it and mentioned something about trans. slip, who knows what he did to it. ouch.
Search your vin # for a full explanation of it. You will find engine and rear end along with trans. If I'm not mistaken when I had a flush but without a cleaner used w/filter change it was $183 for conventional trans fluid. Don't let them replace the filter first or crud will wind up in a clean filter. There's additives that can be added to the fluid like zMax which I use every where. If you want to pop for full synthetic trans fluid it will be just above $200. Not cheap but very good. I use Amsoil thru out my truck.
