Default 2001 Flareside Tailgate

Anyone know of a good place to locate a replacement tailgate? Mine is kinda beat up and I have to push real hard on the upper right corner to get it to open. I'm having a tough time finding them for the flaresides.

I'm not 100% on this but I believe the Flareside tailgates were the same as the supercrew gates

I believe you might be right. Well I will keep on digging on the internet and see what I can find. I think there is a salvage yard not too far from me I could go poke around at.

Yes, Flarside and Supercrew tail gates are the same.
One thing to check, are you sure it is the tailgate and not the bed misaligned?
Try taking it apart and see if everything is lubed and lined up.

I'm pretty sure it's the tailgate cause of where it's beat up but it won't hurt to take it apart and have a look. Either way I wanna get another one in preparation of a repaint to the whole truck. Thanks for the tip

I've been using www.car-part.com as a searchable database for salvage yrds and recycling yards for a few years now. Give them a try to help point you in the right direction of a recycler in your area.

I too have been on the hunt for a tailgate for my 97 flare. I've found several online, but everyone seems to be mighty proud of them. $300 and up, and some of those are dinged up a little as well. Crazy!?!?
