Default 2001 F150 Engine Problems

So I have two problems. The first I believe is an easy fixe but I would just like some clarification and a little help as this would be my first time doing anything kind of serious to my truck. The second problem developed just yesterday and has me seriously worried.

To start I have a 2001 Ford F150 Trinton XLT 5.6L V8 4x4 truck with a manual transmission with 4 gears and an overdrive.

Problem 1
When I start the truck there is a brushing/squeaking sound coming from in front of the engine. I believe it is the mechanical fan, the belt, or one of the pulleys the belt rides along. I don't think it is doing anything harmful but I am one of those guys who is a bit **** about his truck and unnatural sounds like that make me upset. Could y'all help me identify the exact problem I am having and give me some solutions.

Problem 2
This one, in my mind, is a lot more serious. So starting yesterday it feels like my truck has been shaking a lot. By shaking I mean it kind of feels like the engine block if moving left to right more than it should be and more than it has in the past. This problem happens in 1st and 2nd gear and seems to stops after I pass 2,000 rpm when in 3rd gear. I don’t know enough to know what the problem may be but when this started my check engine light came on. I don’t really feel comfortable driving it around because of how much it shakes. One of my buddies was in the truck with me last night and he said he couldn’t feel it but I am not sure it still has me really worried.

I am going to drive down to O'Reilly's this afternoon and see if they can get a scanner on it.

I would really appreciate the help because this has really got me worried.

Thank you!
