Default 2001 5.4 EGR deleted

Had this truck for 7 months and now time to pass emissions. Pulling code P9401 and checked under the hood and looks like EGR has been deleted. No vacuum hose to egr,and both hoses to solenoid are off/ missing.

Most likley had a problem with the EVR or EGR valve. Line colors are Green and White. Might want to replace both valve and solenoid. Track down the green and white line and locate where they've been severed and fix back it up.

Or do what I did, go to a emissions place, delete the code as you pull in and whamo, I passed. I also had and EGR code. And I have my current 100% “legal” emissions

They didn't do a thorough job, then, because I'm pretty sure there's a flag in the ECU that shows how long and.or how many drive cycles have passed since the codes were cleared. And the OP certainly won't pass a visual without the EGR components in place.

The one I went to didn’t do a visual. Just said alright turn the key. Plugged the machine up, crank it, let it run for a few minutes and he said it all came back good. He said the only thing he was glad he didn’t have to do was a tailpipe test. But that couldn’t check the EGR I don’t believe. And the worst he could really do is give you 30 days to correct the problem, which would happen if you didn’t clear it anyway. At least this is how it works in Georgia. Another thing, ask your buddies/dad/ or old timers in the area where you can go and just pay a little more and get your emissions done with no check. Pull up pay $30 and he hands you a paper 3-4 minutes later saying you passed
