2000 starting issue
Over the last three weeks I have had three instances where my 2000 model wouldn't crank. When key is turned, dash indicator lights come on (not the radio) and when key is turned to start position indicator lights fade and nothing happens. No clicks, no nothing. First time I just kept trying and after manually pushing the truck it started. Second time I could not get it started and had it towed. When it was rolled off the tow truck, it started immediately. Mechanic " guessed" it might be the ignition switch so I agreed to have it replaced. It started several times, but this morning failed to start again. Turning key to accessory position does nothing, including no radio.

Check the wires going to the starter, mine corroded off right at the starter less than a year ago on my 01, it could be just sitting there by a c-hair getting a connection at times, I had to hold the wire on the starter with my pliers while I got a guy from work to turn my truck over just to get it started, got home disconnected my battery crimped on a new end to my starter cable, could be something just as simple
Thanks for the tip. Yesterday I found some info that described how to dignose the problem and everything pointed to the starter relay. I replace it and the truck has been starting just fine. Since the issue has been erratic, I still am not overly confident, so I will check the wire going to the starter to ensure it is not corroded.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
