2000 f150 4.6L XLT - Voltage Regulation Question
Hey guys,
Currently in the works of building a new sub system in my truck which requires a High output alternator. I plan on getting a 240A one from MechMan.
Just wondering if the 2000 f150 4.6L v8 trucks voltages are regulated by a PCM or externally? My truck has the 130A stock alternator!
I hear of people having problems with H/O alts with regards to regulation and PCM regulation, and I'd hate to spend $350 not knowing what I'm getting into.
I already know I'll need a new belt that is 0.5" - 1.0" shorter to avoid squealing.
Thanks.
