Default 2000 4x4 5.4 Problem

Yesterday my wife drove my truck and called me and said it was "missing & jerking" as she was trying to accelerate. This was a first for me with this truck. I drove it to work today as usual and experienced the same problem. It occurs at 45mph and continues through 55mph and a little to 60mph. It mostly occurs while accelerating during this speed range but if put into cruise it will do it intermittently. If I take the cruise off, and hold the throttle with my foot, then it's not nearly as bad as long as i'm not accelerating.

It seems like a "miss" in the engine but much more. It feels like its coming from the front because it vibrates the steering wheel and causes the front to shake which causes the dash to vibrate and shake as well.

It does not seem to be occurring at speeds less than 45mph. I didn't drive it faster than 60mph this morning and generally dont because of the back roads I'm spend the majority of my time.

My truck has 213K miles on it and I just upgraded my tires from 265/75/16 to 285/75/16 about 2 weeks ago. I had the rear end replaced a little over a year ago. I didn't notice any strange noises coming from my truck, and there are no check engine lights on at this time. I'm kinda worried that putting these bigger tires on my truck might've messed up my engine somehow.

Do you guys have any ideas?? Thanks.

Sounds like you have a misfire. It's commonly noticeable at that speed. It's not bad enough to throw a code.

You can either keep driving as is and hope for a complete failure to find out what cylinder/s. If one fails the others aren't far behind.

Otherwise I do have a set of OEM cops for sale. I'm open to offers. They are OEM which are much more reliable than generic ones.
