Default 2000 4wd issue

Hey guys so I bought my f150 recently and decided to test out my 4wd. Well it turns out it doesn't work. when I put it on 4 hi and low only the back tires engaged(both rear wheels were spinning). Is there a trick to getting the front to engage or do I actually have an issue. If so any ideas and how easy it is to fix it.
Note I have automatic hubs and a manual transfer case

Put a little grease to it. That straightened up my problem too. Is yours a floor shift or the button? It could be the little thing that sends an electrical signal to the transfer case as well, I do believe it's a $30 part.
