Hello all, I have two questions, #1 while looking underneath the truck the other day to check if anything had rattled loose, noticed this slick area between the rear drive shaft and rear diff., never noticed it before. here's a pic.

#2 question, what's this horizontal tube with the insulation around it for? here's another pic.
