got to questions for all ya

1st: when at a stop and i go to take off at a normal speed i hear like a poppig noise coming from the rear of the truck it goes away and once i stop i hear it again. the u joints were replaced maybe 8,000 miles ago and its popping/ knocking noise not a squick

2nd: when shifting from 1st to 2nd under half throttle is the shift supposed to feel hard? it seems like its delayed then i feel a it catch.

well i have had the same popping noise on my front end. im like you in that everything seems to be solid when checking out the front end. i had a problem once in another truck with my rotor either slipping a little and or my calliper not reasing all the way. try rolling just a little and see if ur still getting the popping in the frnt end.

 

I had a thud or similar sound coming from the rear of the truck some time ago too. What I found was that my spare tire was swinging around. Just something to check.

 

yea i checked the spare tire and took it down but im still hearing the noice. thanks for lookn out tho

 

Would tend to believe both issues are related. Am not the tranny guru, but would think its radiating from there to other points.
