Default 1999 heritage

ok, so, i actually asked this question last month and a virus killed my comp so i must ask again

i own a 1999 Ford F-150 XL, Single Cab - Short Box, with a 4.6 V8

i asked a friend about it and he said that it was just another way of labeling the standard base line truck

If your asking if your truck is a Heritage, no. I believe the only "real" Heritage anniverery truck is a 2003, and then you have the 97-03 body style, 2004 that is called Heritage but it's just what they called the leftovers..

it's really got me curious then, the tailgate looks like it's the original, same amount of wear as the rest of the bed and i've seen other trucks around here that were plain work trucks with the same tag on the tailgate

still a little confused what the question is, but no your truck is not a heritage. It is a 1999 the heritage f150s were the leftover that they labeled as a commemorative package to celebrate the success of the 97-03s or some crap like that lol. It is possible someone stole the tailgate soon after a previous owner got it, and they replaced it with a used heritage tailgate and then used the crap out of the bed so it all looks the same. The only legit heritage style trucks I have seen are late 2003s and 2004s.

Yup. I've got a reason to be paranoid about mine but it's whatever.

I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe your tailgate got dented and they replaced it.

Do you have a carfax? Maybe it was in an accident.
