1998 4.2l blown engine
Hi everyone,
I bought a 98 4.2L full cab with a blown engine. The engine seem to have seized as it wont turn over. I just need some advised on what other year engines will fit this truck and what would be my best route as far getting an engine. Should I go the junk yard route or should I get a remanufactured engine. What are the differences between the two..
I'm not a mechanic, just a DIY that wants to shop for the engine himself and wants to learn about whats being placed in the vehicle. I have a mechanic that will do the swap for me.

Just a crazy idea (because it happened to me) but have you tried removing the serp belt before trying to start the engine? My truck had a seized ac compressor that briefly had me thinking that the motor was done for because it wouldn't let it crank
