I have a 1997 Ford F-150 with the 4.6 v8. Engine code '6' so it's a windsor. Almost every time I try to start the truck, hot or cold it turns over for a second or two but doesn't seem to fire. On the second turn over it fires a little rough and then idles and runs as it should. The truck isn't throwing any codes. Any ideas?

What's the milage on your truck. Sounds like it needs a good ole tune up. plugs, air filter, fuel filter and I would run some seafoam in the intake and threw the fuel system. I just used it in my truck a few days ago and its great.

 

agreed @ 100,000 ford recommends changing spark plugs and all.. also try cycling the key back and forth a few times see if that help if it does fuel pump is getting weak..
