Default 1997 recalls...

Have a new to me 1997 f150 xcab 4x4 with 155,000...gave my vin to ford to check if recalls were done and all they told me is that no recalls applied to my vin!How do I check if recalls were completed? (like gas tank strap,park shifter,cc control switch burning....)

if no recalls applied to that vin then you dont have anything to worry about

Either they have been done or they are no longer being done due to time frame. They are only responsible for a certain amount of time.

Just look. There will be a fusible link harness attached to the cruise control deactivation switch and the switch will be dry.

You can always crawl under and check your tank straps as well. That's the quickest way.

Thanks, I will check...but still feel you should be able to find out if all the recalls have been done...think ford would not want the truck out there with potential bad problems....

After a certain amount of time it is no longer Fords problem. It falls in to the hands of the owner to have them done in a timely manner.
