Sounds like you've got air in your system

How would I go about getting the air out?

I installed a flush kit on mine. Its a plastic T that you install inline on one of your heater hoses. Cost you about $10 from auto zone, etc. Hook a water hose up to the T and take your reservoir cap off. Let the water hose run for a little while to push out any air pockets and place the provided cap back on the T. Not sure how everyone else does it, but that worked for me. You can then pour anti-freeze in the reservoir and run the engine to mix it. I'm in FL so I don't have to run much of a mix.

Ill try that. Because the resivor is full and I felt the hose right as I got home on a still running remp engine it was soft not hard. So im thinking maybe a radiator cap, flush, and maybe a thermostat? Just to be safe? It also had coolant sprayed around the cap/resivor and the coolant wasnt a very healthy color. A dark green almost like a moss green not bright coolant green.

Yep, flushing it & changing the t-stat sound like a good start. I flush mine once a year. Its really easy with the kit.

I would make sure you flush the block by taking out the drain plugs in the block. A blockage in the block can prevent the air from getting out and develop the hot spot you are experiencing. There are a couple of you tube videos that show how to flush and drain the block.
