17" to 16" Rims - Is it possible??

Default 17" to 16" Rims - Is it possible??
I was wondering if I went from my stock FX4 17" rims to Chrome Mod 16" rim with a 4" to 4.5" backspace if they will fit? Has anybody tried this out yet? What are the long term effects if it will work, if any?

Yes. The 1997-2003 trucks came standard with 16" wheels and then the optionals were 17". The brakes are the same so clearance is not a problem.

Go forth and do good things... with your 16's.

mine came with 17s and ive had 16s on for a good while now, no problems, but 16 is as small as you can go

16" is smallest rim you can run, so yes it will fit.

Mine also came with 17's and I went down to a 16x10.

Thanks guys for the input. I think that going with the 16's would be cheaper all around, Rims and Tires. I like the 17's but not that much.
