10th Generation Manual Transmission Inner Shifter Boot
Greetings fellow DIYers, I’m looking for your help. I need an inner shifter boot for a 1997 Ford F-150 Manual Transmission (picture attached). Anyone have a part number, or have an idea on how to fabricate my own? It’s much more supple rubber then the outer boot. An internet search for an original fit replacement hasn’t been fruitful nor was my trip to the junkyard today. Insights are appreciated.
Thanks,
CB

Do you mean the one that comes in the shift rebuild kit?

No, I’m not referring to what’s found in that kit. I’m referring to the rubber boot, otherwise referred to as the “inner shift boot” in my Chiltons manual. In the one picture I’m lifting up the rubber to show how it’s torn. My desire is to find a direct fit replacement, but if I can’t find one then I guess i’ll have to make something else work. I’m open to suggestions.

ALL,
Keyword searches didn't help me find what I was looking for on the interwebs, so I did the latest and greatest AI type of search using Google's image finder utilizing my phone's camera, and viola, the product I needed appeared. Hope this helps someone else. See attached pics. Very pricey, but surprisingly, despite the place it came from, the product was brand new. Very pleased and fit just like OEM.
