Default 0401 code being thrown.

I know what the code means. Insufficient air flow in egr. Mechanic told me to replace the sensor. Did that and erased the code. The engine light came back on. What's next? Sensor cost 120 and wasn't the problem. Any ideas

Not knowing what year, engine or miles, perhaps its time to basicly verify the EGR is working. Ford had issues with the sensor 10 years ago, would think, those bad boys were changed out by now. With engine at idle, put vaccuum to the valve and verify the engine quits.

Could the o2 sensors cause the egr to fail?
