Default 04 F150 (heritage) questions (cruise, transmission)

Hello, I recently got an 04 Heritage F150 with the 4.2L and 5 speed manual. The cruise control works intermittently, its more likely to work when its cooler out, when I got it I sprayed the engine at the car wash and it worked immediately after, but it is now back to not working at all. Does anyone have any idea on what to check?

The 5 speed manual can sometimes be a pain to put into gear, like sitting at a stop light or when you first start the truck, the clutch cylinders aren't losing any fluid, I was planning on doing a transmission service, does anyone have some fluid recommendations?

Thanks for any help.

Oh, and heres a pic just for fun

Depending on mileage it may need a clutch.

you sure you have a 04? The parking lights/corners aren't the right color if it's a heritage 04

I agree with everyone that has commented.

The 04 heritage as far as I know had solid amber corners.

The getting into gear may be your clutch.

As for the cruise control. Make sure the switch on the master cylinder isn't leaking. If it is unplug it NOW them leaking had burned trucks to the ground and some houses when the trucks were in the garage. Ford had a recall on them. Google "F150 Cruise Control Recall"

By 04 it was already fixed with fusible links. SOmeone may have swapped the corner laps.

It is an 04, not sure why its up for debate, the truck is from an impound lot, I did the vin inspection and title work, among other things.

Thanks for the info on the cruise.
