03 fx4 brake upgrade
Good morning all, lifetime ford fan here with a love of trucks starting with my dads 68 f100 work truck. Having owned a 72 f100, 84 ranger, 97 f150 and now an 03 f150 supercrew fx4 with 218k. Looking to upgrade the all disc brake package and looking for recommendations and experiences with parts link if possible. Normal everyday driver with very light off road use. I just want the better stopping power kind of like my BMW 330gt, as much as thats possible with a big truck. Thanks and have a great day.

Some of us have gone to our own Big Brake package. It requires Expy/7700 front calipers, Expy rotors and for the best package, Expy front wheel bearings. Also a dual booster from the Expy makes it a very decent stopping truck. I can stop, when pulling my boat, in half the distance of the original set up. I don't know of an upgrade for the rears right off.
JBrew, myself and a couple others will chime in if you need help. Since you have an 03, you will need to use 2000-02 Expy's parts to fit your 14mm studs on your truck. Calipers and brackets can come from 97 thru 02 Expys and all F250LD/7700 calipers and brackets. Must have both
