Default 02 supercrew heater?

heater is luke warm at best, leave on high constantly, blend door seems to be working because goes cool when turn heat down, bother heater core hoses luke warm can hold rt onto them, 1 has a inline valve of somekind, no vacuum port on it or linkage just a cap says keep tight, coolant is full, temp guage normal position, have had many these trucks but never with the digital control on dash and never seen this lil inline valve in heater core hose, im thinking thats my problem, anyone know what this is? can i just remove it?

My heat didn't get very hot when my thermostat got stuck open and the truck ran cold haha. Is your truck reaching proper operating temp?
