My 01 f150 ex cab 5.4 the other day the speedometer stopped working and goes all the way to the right and sometimes when turning on the heat it will go to 90mph and stay there can i just replace the speeddo or do i have to replace the whole cluster and do i have to get it programmed for the pats system as well.

 

Maybe if you can get a kicker motor for it and replace it yourself... Otherwise if you do get a new cluster, with it being an 01, you are going to have to get the new cluster programmed to the truck. Gonna have to go to the dealer for that though.

 

I called the dealer and they said i cant use a junk yard cluster as i would have to buy one straight through ford cause they dont program them anyone here ever have a dealer program a junk yard cluster before.
