Default 01 F150 4.2 Stalling/Underivable

New to this forum, I am hoping someone can please help me with my 01 F150 4.2. I never had a problem with it until the moment I paid it off; I walked out of the dealership with the biggest smile and title in hand. My worst nightmare came true when I started my truck and it stalled. I started it back reving it hard to keep it running then just dropped it in gear and made it about 4 miles before I had to come to a stop at a red light, to my surprise the truck didnt stall when I stopped and drove fine. About a week later I was driving home about 20 minutes from my house on a 2 hour trip. I stopped at a red light and when I tried to accelerate I had to get to like 3,000 rpm before it even started pulling. I made it home and parked it. Now it runs ok in park or neutral but does have a little bit of a high idle and when I put it in gear it will begin idling sporadically and usually stalls, when it doesnt stall if I drive just backing it up and down the driveway it shutters and shakes violently. I finally got an OBD2 reader today, it pulled 12 codes! P0340 P1747 P0750 P0755 P0743 P0443 P1451 P0135 P0141 P0155 P0161 and P1409. If anyone can please point me in the right direction where I should start I will be extremely grateful!

Man you must of paid a ton in finance charges, that's a long time. What were your payments, 30 a month lol. How many years was CEL on ?

Regardless, start with a harness check. A lot of times that's a wiring problem, -O2 harness (burned), or burned by the EGR assembly. Could be pinched, chaffed badly, animal nesting (squirrels). Give it a good looking over.

Jbrew I shouldn't have said dealership, I got it from a buy here pay here I've had it just over a year. NFortin1966 thank you for pointing that out I didn't realize that, I had just got the codes when i posted this so am now going through forums trying to see what worked for other people; just kind of uncertain where to start having so many codes. Im prepared to replace the transmission or whatever it ends up needing, but of course am hoping to fix is as cheap as possible

The common cause listed for most of these codes is PCM failure. It is common for the PCM's to corrode and short out on these vehicles due to its location. I would check this first. Unfortunately if it is corroded through, it will need to be replaced.

No problem, like I said, check the harness thoroughly. First thing you should look at.

After some searching I have found some people who had all the same transmission codes as me, and have come to realize it is maddening how often users fail to post what fix worked for their problem. I tried to check the wire but it was too dark, I will check first thing tomorrow. One promising sign, I found fuse 23 was blown, so it seems promising that I may just have a chafed wire causing most of my codes

Right, the easiest place to inspect first is around the EGR piping in the engine compartment. This piping can get hot, specially with a faulty EGR valve or if your Cats are becoming restricted. Look for a melted section of harness. From there , check around the exhaust manifolds and exhaust under the cab.

Ford changed the fuse blocks around in these trucks often, so your going to have to post which circuit (s) fuse 23 is responsible for. This info will be in your owners manual. If you don't have this manual, let us know and we'll get you one.

I throughly examined the wiring harness and the tube that runs from the egr valve and was unable to find any bare spots, everything looks really good even near the o2 sensors, but everything I've read said fuses dont blow for no reason, should I replace the fuse and just see if it blows again?

Yes. See if it blows again, more so, see if clears something up. If not, you'll have to trace the circuit.
