Unless you're playing StarCraft, those are zerk fittings, not Zerg fittings. 
I've done it on my old Explorer. I don't think I extended the life of those ball joints at all, though. If you bought cheap aftermarket joints they'll probably go sloppy before they go dry, I wouldn't bother adding a zerk.

I recently did my front end with moog parts. They are a little more expensive but worth it. If you can not buy them now, I would just put the parts you got as is. Tap them? Technically i guess you could. I wouldn't tap them. I don't think it would add much more life to them. Just my opinion. Post some pics if you do tap them and show us.
