Trip to Blue Spring State Park (FL)
The park is 77 miles away from my home in Saint Augustine. My camper is a R-Pod by Forest River and weighs a little over 6,300 pounds.
I put the tranny in tow mode and it never dropped out of 6th gear. I set the cruise at 60mph. She pulled with ease. Down and back I averaged 13mpg. No shuddering I keep hearing about. Maybe just lucky I guess.
Blue Spring puts out 104,000,000 gallons per week into the Saint Johns River. There were a ton of manatees there! They had to swim 170 river miles from the mouth of the river to get there for the winter.
