Default Muffler question

Does anyone know what the requirements in PA are for mufflers on the Ecoboost? I've heard people on another forum sayin they have straight piped theirs but they are in other states. Someone told me that in PA a turbo counts as a muffler somehow. I don't mean to sound stupid, but if anyone has some solid insight, please help me out. Thank you. KCCO!

I don't live in PA but have a lot of family there. Because of your yearly state inspection I would contact whoever is going to do yours and ask them. A turbo will not count as a muffler.

Turbo muffler. Deeper tone than a glasspack. Not the engine turbo.
Yes, a turbo muffler is a muffler, just the same as a glasspack, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc is a muffler.
