Winter Tire Feedback
Im looking for some feedback as im about to get some snow tires for my 2012 F150 FX4
So far im leaning toward the hankook Ipike @277.99 a piece from canadian tire.
By the time im done with tax mount and balance and 4 steelies at 119.99each im looking at @1984.19
am i getting ripped off?

I'm going down the same route as I don't want to use the stock Pirelli Scorpions on my 2012 FX4 even for the limited snow we get here in Vancouver. We make regular trips to Whistler and the interior during the winter.
Am starting to think it is worth it to mail order tires and take a trip to my mailing address in Blaine (easy and cheap to get one). It appears to be worth the hassle - the same I*Pike RWII tire CT sells is 189.00 at an on-line retailer in the U.S. (first one I checked), with free shipping (to U.S. addresses). Mail order from out of state, pay no state taxes and pay the GST/PST or HST you'd have normally paid anyway, when you import them at the border. Have them mounted locally. Save at least 300 - 400$. Or use this info to bargain a better price from a Canadian retailer... even better.
Bridgestone Blizzack DM-V1's at $208 US (275/55029) [$286 in Canada] or $194 US (275/65-18).
Hmnn. Time to do a little retail research to see if it is worth it but on first glance for those near the border it seems so.
Another question I have - not specific at all to tire pricing or where to buy - is whether I should go minus 2 for winter rim steelies and run 18's instead of 20's for my winter-only tires. Tires are slightly cheaper and isn't snow performance supposed to be slightly better?
Watching this thread for more ideas.

I priced mine out at the dealer where l bought my truck, and for Michelin X-Ice i2's in 245/70/R17's with rims and sensors, l was quoted $1,447.20 plus HST of 13% works out to $1,601.43. I had them on my last truck and l was really happy with them.
